In November 2009, something prophetically monumental has happened, and it's the creation of the permanent presidency of the European Union.
In the coming days, the Antichrist will likely become, first, the president of the Europe Union which seems to be the revived Roman Empire, and go on to rule the whole earth. Thus the office with which the Antichrist can become the king of Europe seems to have been created.
First, I will explain why people are talking about the Revived Roman Empire - Europe and talk about the EU presidency for the Antichrist.
In the future, the Antichrist will say he is Jesus, rule the whole world, and will persecute the true servants of God in a period called the Great Tribulation, and there has already been the time period in the history that was like a model for the coming Great Tribulation - Dark Ages of Europe (Middle Ages).
Just like the coming Antichrist will say he is Jesus, the Roman Catholic Popes said they represent Christ on the earth, ruled over all of Europe and persecuted the people of God, and whoever did not honor them and obey. It all started with the ancient Roman Empire destroying God's nation and the Jewish Temple just as prophesied in the Book of Daniel, and the spirit of Rome against God continued to the Dark Ages where Roman Catholic Popes ruled over Europe and persecuted the God's faithfuls. The difference this time around is that, instead of Europe, the Antichrist will get to rule the whole world.
Now, if we look in the Book of Daniel, we can find a breath taking clue as to who the Antichrist will be.
Daniel 9:26 "After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. [a] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' [b] In the middle of the 'seven' [c] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."
It says, "the people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary", and this is a piece of prophecy about the event in which the Roman Empire destroyed Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple in 70AD. And, if you continue on to the next verse you can see that the king of the people who destroyed Jerusalem which is the Romans - that king will be the Antichrist who will do the things described in the verse 27!
Thus, we can know that the Antichrist will be the king of the Roman Empire. But, as you know the Roman Empire perished and the period in which the Roman Catholic Popes ruled the Europe has passed, thus one might think that the prophecy has failed, but lo and behold, in these end times, the Roman Empire has been reborn.
It started with a few countries in Europe forming a pact and now it grew to be like a huge empire ruling over all of Europe just like the spiritual Roman Empire that ruled over all of Europe. And the same spirit that governed the Europe during the Dark Ages is running through the veins of EU. You can see that when you hear such statements made by the newly appointed EU president, Heman Van Rompuy. He said, because the EU is built upon the fundamental value that is Christianity (i.e, Roman Catholic. He is a Roman Catholic), an Islam state such as Turkey can never be a part of EU.
If you sum it all up, you can predict that the Antichrist will be the king of newly revived Roman Empire - The European Union. And now, with the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, the office the king of the EU, the permanent presidency, has been created.
However, as of now,the presidency has no real power and that, too, seems to have been meticulously prophesied in the Book of Daniel.
In Daniel 11:21, it says, "21And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.",
and the current presidency has no real power as a real president should. When the Antichrist ascend to the presidency in the future, at first, he will have no real power but will be a king in name only, that is, the honor of the kingdom will not be given to him. However, he will obtain the kingdom by flattery."
Again in Daniel 7, the Antichrist will be a (powerless) little horn at first. Note that the little horn starts as a little horn, but it is a horn so it's a king, nonetheless. So, the Antichrist, when first ascended to the king, will have little power and without the honor of the kingdom given to him, thus little horn but will grow in power.
Daniel 7:7 "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things."
There appear 4 beasts in the Book of Daniel 7, and the beasts represent the 4 huge empires that followed the times that Daniel lived in. Respectively, they were Babylon, Persia, Greek, and the forth was the Roman Empire. Now, the fourth beast had 10 horns, and many decided to abandon the EU as the fourth beast when the number of the member states of EU surpassed 10 nations, but what they had neglected was the organization within the Europe called Western European Union (WEU). The main purpose of the organization is of military alliance and the number of the member states is 10.
And the Book of Daniel says, among the 10 horns, another little horn came up and before it 3 of the horns were plucked up. In the future, if the Antichrist is to obtain the real power over the EU, there are mainly 3 member states that could be in the way, and which are the 3 most prominent states which carry significant weight within EU? They are Britain, France, and Germany. And, all of them are members of WEU which seems to be the 10 horns in Daniel.
If the Antichrist tries to obtain the power over EU, those three states will likely be the major obstacles, and according to the Book of Daniel, the Antichrist will subdue the 3 kings as explained in the following verses in Daniel.
Daniel 7:23 "He gave me this explanation: 'The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. 24 The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. 25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time. [a]
26 " 'But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever."
As in verse 24-25 above, the Antichrist will subdue three kings and persecute the saints of the Most High, and it will be for a time (1year), times (2 years), and half a time (1/2 years), totaling 3 1/2 years, and it will be the time of the Great Tribulation.
So far, the end times seem to have progressed up until the creation of the office of Antichrist's kingship, and I will try to update on this report as it further progresses.
(P.S, It seems that the first EU president, Herman Van Rompuy is not the Antichrist. Among many reasons, is that he is not a Jew. In the future, Israel will accept the Antichrist as the messiah, and start the daily sacrifice under the guidance of the Antichrist. If that has to happen, the Antichrist must be a Jew, or at least appear to be a Jew, because, it is prophesied that the messiah will come from the root of Jesse and if the AC is a not a Jew, the Israel won't accept him as the messiah. But, as you know the real messiah was from the root of Jesse, and he already walked on the earth 2000 years ago and will come back. This time, not as a baby, but return in the air on the cloud with great glory and with his army of angels.)
